Mission

Why we exist

To advance the scholarly study of organizational excellence, producing peer-reviewed research, convening the field, and supporting the next generation of scholars whose work will shape organizations worldwide.

Vision

Where we are going

A world in which organizations, public, private, civic, are designed and led on evidence, so that work itself becomes a source of dignity, performance, and human flourishing.

The Community

Where scholars and reflective practitioners meet.

ISOER exists at the intersection of the academy and the field. Our members work in universities, consultancies, government, and the operating rooms of organizations of every size.

What holds us together is a shared conviction: the study of organizational excellence deserves a rigorous, international home, and its research should reach the people who lead and shape organizations every day.

Core Values

Four commitments that shape every ISOER program.

Evidence over fashion

We privilege what is known and tested over what is trending. Rigor is the price of admission to this field.

Research with integrity

Honest methods, transparent findings, and open citation. Members are bound to the Society's standards of scholarly conduct.

Global inclusivity

Excellence looks different across cultures and sectors. We treat that variation as a source of insight, not noise.

Practice-aware scholarship

We publish for the field, research that meets academic standards and speaks to the realities of practice.

Governance

How the Society is organized.

ISOER operates as a not-for-profit international society governed by an elected Board, advised by a global Council, and delivered through a small set of standing committees.

Every ISOER member agrees to abide by the Society's Code of Ethics, a public commitment to honest methods, intellectual integrity, and the responsible communication of research.
